Due to its medieval old core, which has retained its authentic appearance to this day, Dubrovnik was chosen as the ideal location for shooting the outdoor scene located at King's Landing. This is best seen in the fifth episode of Game of Thrones "The Bells", when the capital of the Seven Kingdom's burned to the ground.

Despite the ringing of bells that signaled surrender Lannisters, Daenerys Targaryen (Emilia Clarke) has decided not to show mercy. Full of anger she is flew on the Drogon destroying everything on his way, burning buildings and people without remorse. Dragon Queen burned the capital of the Seven Kingdom's to the ground.

Jon Snow (Kit Harington) was released from prison and leaves King's Landing. He was sent back to the Wall to rejoin the Night's Watch as punishment for killing his queen.
