Due to its medieval old core, which has retained its authentic appearance to this day, Dubrovnik was chosen as the ideal location for shooting the outdoor scene located at King's Landing. This is best seen in the fifth episode of Game of Thrones "The Bells", when the capital of the Seven Kingdom's burned to the ground.
